What Are Lined Curtains?
Lined curtains have an added lining layer of thick, insulating fabric on the back of the curtain which can either be attached to the curtain or can be hung on a separate track behind the curtain. The lining can be a matching or complementary fabric, or plain curtain fabric such as white or ivory.

Where Can You Use Lined Curtains?
Curtain lining can be applied to all types, styles and sizes of curtains. This means they can be used in any room, from bedrooms to studies and conservatories. Whether your choice is eyelet curtains, curtains with pleats or curtains with pelmets, lined fabrics can be used throughout the home in all types of rooms. Lining can also be used for a range of blinds, including roller, Roman and festoon blinds.
What Is The Difference Between Lined and Blackout Curtains?
It all depends on the fabric of the lining! Blackout lining fabric that is certified 100% blackout means that no light will pass through the fabric itself, however, light seepage is possible around the sides of blinds and curtains, and light will seep through the eyelets on eyelet curtains. The blackout fabric has a special coating that fills the tiny gaps in the weave of the fabric. It is super-soft so doesn’t make the lining stiff and unyielding, ensuring that your curtains and blinds still have their beautiful folds and pleats.
